Haiyan, the worst typhoon that hit the Philippines has passed but the damage it created in the Central Philippines will take years to rebuild.  The devastation is vast and many Filipinos continue to struggle to rebuild their lives. A lot of generous hearts worldwide has already extended help but the opportunities to lend a hand still abounds.

If you are looking for more ways to help Typhoon Haiyan survivors, below are continuing efforts in rebuilding lives in the Central Philippines.

• Mercy Corps: There are two ways to help in their rebuild efforts. One is by donating to their Humanitarian Response Fund and the other is by starting an online fund raising campaign to help the Haiyan survivors. Check out their site for the details here.

• World Vision: Apart from their immediate relief response, World Vision also opened Child-Friendly Spaces where children can safely play and recover from the disaster. You can help out their efforts by sponsoring a child in the Philippines or making a one-time donation to the World Vision’s Philippine Disaster Response Fund. • Heifer International: Here is a very simple and straightforward way to make a donation for the continuing rebuild efforts in the Central Philippines. Simply choose from $125, $250 or $500 one-time donation. All funds go to the long term recovery work for Haiyan survivors in the Philippines. • Gawad Kalinga (GK): If you are looking for more ways to help Haiyan victims, visit the GK site here. They give details on simple ways on how you can help provide food packs, rebuild homes, provide livelihood and many other needs of the affected victims.

There remains to be a great need to be fulfilled as survivors continue to struggle in their efforts to rebuild their lives. But they would be glad to know they are not alone in this journey. With your help, no matter how big or small, victims would be able to rebuild their lives faster and this disaster would soon be a part of history.
